LUSH is leveraging CockroachCloud to modernize data architecture and to gain insight into global company performance
Lush is the global handmade cosmetics company that has been in business since 1955 and currently has over 950 stores in 49 different countries. As is the case with most companies with that combination of size, success, and longevity; their database infrastructure was made up of many disparate instances of MySQL. The problem with this infrastructure was that it prevented Lush from having easy access to global inventory information. Additionally, the operational overhead of managing disparate MySQL instances slowed down developer production.
In an effort to modernize their database architecture and to optimize inventory management Lush began to evaluate Google Spanner and CockroachDB; ultimately choosing to move forward with CockroachCloud, the fully managed version of CockroachDB.
